Lumigan vs Latisse - Eyelash Enhancement

Q. What is the difference between Lumigan and Latisse?

A. Lumigan (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) is formulated as an eyedrop to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The unexpected side effect of Lumigan is the sudden growth and thickening of the eyelashes. Once this side effect was discovered and researched, Latisse was created to be specifically used for eyelash growth. Latisse is not an eyedrop but is carefully applied to the base of the eyelash. Allergan manufactures Latisse and Lumigan. Both are each categorized as a drug and require prescriptions. Lumigan is considered "off label" and is less expensive than Latisse. It is reported they are the same product, although some say Latisse is a more diluted formulation. Lumigan is not approved by the FDA for cosmetic purposes. Clinical data clearly shows Lumigan and Latisse grow eye-popping, thick and lustrous eyelashes. B-l-i-n-k!
